Bell Ringing on 19th April 2008

The peal attempt on Saturday, the 19th April by Members of the Hertford County Association was successful, the bells coming round after 5,056 different changes of a method known as Pytchley Surprise Major in 3 hours and 14 minutes.

During the afternoon of Saturday, the 17th May, there will be an hour's visit by bell ringers from St Barnabas' Church, Linslade.  For administrative purposes, Linslade was transferred to Bedfordshire from Buckinghamshire about 25 years ago but the benefice remained within the Diocese of Oxford:  it has just recently been incorporated within this See to allow a closer union with the church in Leighton Buzzard.  The bell ringers at Linslade therefore regard this as a visit to new territory!
