| On the morning of the 27th September 2009 at 8:30 a.m. the team arrived at Oakley village Hall to prepare for the launch of That Sunday Thing. All hands were on deck in the kitchen and the hall for the doors to open at 9:30 a.m. There was a great atmosphere with people buzzing round getting everything ready. As we moved closer to 9.30 the building was filled with the smell of cooked bacon, it was perfect! The hall was looking good, the quiet room was looking peaceful, and the kitchen was ready. “Ok God, we’ve done all that we can, now over you to get the people here you want.” This was part of a prayer that was said by the team as we met together to pray before the doors opened. |

By 10:15 a.m. we had welcomed 42 guests through the door, and had enjoyed or were enjoying a good breakfast while spending time together as a family and reading the newspapers. |
| It was lovely to see families together and great to have a chance to chat with some of the dads. At 10.40 came the food for thought slot. This went well but we did finds that the hall was still fairly noisy, which was slightly off-putting. Despite this though, some people were able to engage with the theme. Next month we will be watching part of a children’s film and having some reflections on that. |

Everybody commented on how much they had enjoyed the experience of coming to That Sunday Thing and have said that they will come back. There was a real sense that God had his hand on this project. The team worked brilliantly and hard, so a big thanks to them! If you are thinking of coming, but are unsure, what we guarantee is, you will be warmly welcomed, you will have a first-class breakfast, and you will not be pressured into doing or saying anything. You can just chill! So come along as a family or with friends or by yourself- it will be great to see you on 25th October. That Sunday thing Team
